We are committed to respecting the privacy rights of our users. We are committed to transparently sharing all aspects of the operation of the DataGalaxy product and site in terms of confidentiality, conditions and personal data, and we fully support efforts to ensure your online protection.
The following is a collection of information and resources to help you answer questions about your experience with DataGalaxy. We appreciate your interest and are proud to have you as a member of our community!
The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) came into force on 25 May and we are fully behind the spirit of these regulations for a safe and secure Internet. We aspire to adopt privacy by design and, to the extent possible, not to collect and store personally identifiable information.
On the whole, we aim for confidentiality by default: data collection is not part of the operation of our product, we do not collect them since we simply work with metadata. This approach is very much in line with the spirit of the DPMR, and we are fortunate that many of the practices encouraged by the DPMR have been in place at DataGalaxy since the beginning. As such, you may see some banners or forms requesting consent to collect personally identifiable information for tracking purposes.
At any time, you can request that your information be exported and sent to you for review, and we promptly honour any request from you to have your information deleted and forgotten.
Here is the current status of DataGalaxy’s GDPR compliance:
We audit all areas of DataGalaxy to determine what personal data we collect and for what purpose. In the event that the collection of personal data is not essential, we remove this collection process.
We work hard to ensure that our policy contains appropriate language, is easy to understand and clearly communicates all instances of personal data collection.
