Its 5G and 4G networks, which now cover 99% of the market, and its fixed-line and cloud services enable Bouygues Télécom customers to enjoy their personal and professional digital lives, wherever they may be.

Project background

Bouygues Telecom wanted a united, transversal vision of their data. They implemented DataGalaxy’s Data Knowledge Catalog to help them master, understand, and control their data. The Bouygues Telecom roadmap focused on 4 pillars:

  • Governance
  • Sharing
  • Knowledge
  • Adoption amongst all users

The Bouygues Telecom Data Knowledge Catalog focuses on:

  • Inventorying their technical sources and documenting the entire Bouygues Telecom data virtualization processes
  • Understanding the applied transformations
  • Modeling algorithms of their virtualized data to provide traceability of flows
  • Improving the availability of information through functional documentation of each data element and creation of a common business language

The project methodology addressed the following points:

The iterative approach, which took place in two stages

  • Creating an enterprise metamodel
  • Identifying use cases

The use case approach which allowed the Bouygues Telecom operational teams to initiate their collaborative approach

  • Identification and monitoring of success indicators
  • Opening the tool to all users
