From extended lineage to deeper metadata exploration by AI assistants, these updates help teams understand, use, and trust their data.
Generate lineage between Power BI and SQL Server
The Power BI connector can now generate lineage with Microsoft SQL Server sources.
You get a clearer view of how data travels from SQL Server to your business dashboards, which makes impact analysis easier, strengthens trust in the data, and keeps reporting transparent.
The PostgreSQL connector is now available in Online mode
You can now run the connector directly from the platform and get the full SaaS experience, without hosting the Desktop connector yourself.
This simplifies deployment, removes infrastructure overhead, and makes it easier to sync metadata at scale.
MCP Server: access fields and columns through child objects
AI assistants can now explore metadata in greater depth thanks to support for child object retrieval.
When an assistant explores a table or data object, it can now access the underlying fields and columns, not just the relationships attached to that object.
This gives it a fuller picture of your data structure. Instead of simply seeing that two tables are linked, it can drill down to the field level, identify the actual join keys, and generate more accurate SQL queries from a question asked in natural language.
The result: AI-driven experiences deliver more reliable answers while cutting the time spent searching for data and building queries.
